Had a wonderful experience with Imran who collected us at our hotel in Kandy and we visited Sigiriya and Dambulla Cave Temple. He is very knowledgeable and flexible. Comfortable vehicle. Overall an excellent experience.

Me and my wife had the pleasure of going on a 10 day Sri Lanka tour with Beyond Escapes and it was truly an unforgettable experience. From start to finish, our guide Dinesh went above and beyond to ensure that we had an amazing time and got the most out of our trip. Dinesh was incredibly knowledgeable about the history, culture, and customs of Sri Lanka, and he shared this knowledge with us in a way that was engaging and informative. He was always willing to answer our questions and provide additional information about the places we visited. We visited ancient temples, hiked through lush rainforests, went on a safari to see elephants and other wildlife, and even took a village tour in a traditional Sri Lankan hut. Each day was filled with new and exciting adventures, and Dinesh was always there to guide us and make sure we were having fun. Throughout the tour, Dinesh also took care of all the logistical details, such as transportation, accommodations, and meals. Everything was well-organized and seamless, which allowed us to relax and fully enjoy our vacation. Overall, I highly recommend Beyond Escapes for anyone looking to explore Sri Lanka. And if you have the chance to tour with Dinesh, I highly recommend it! He is an excellent guide who is a credit to the company and truly went above and beyond to make our trip unforgettable. I do have to mention a couple of negatives regarding our trip, we booked through a UK company called affordable luxury so didn’t deal with Beyond escapes directly and our issues stem from the communication between the two companies. On the 14th Jan over 2 months after we’d made our final payment affordable luxury informed us that because of our flight times we’d need to pay £80 for an extra night at Heritance Negombo Hotel. We booked our entire package (flights, transfers, hotel etc.) through affordable luxury so that should’ve been incorporated into the initial cost. Nevertheless we paid it so when we received our final holiday documents we were perturbed to see that we were staying at Golden Star Beach Hotel on our first night a 3 star hotel where the most expensive room we could see was £30 so there was clearly a breakdown in communication between the two companies. Golden Star beach hotel to be quite honest is a horrible hotel its dated, the air con didn’t work, the bathroom was dirty and there were flies all over the breakfast. We had booked this package specifically because of the high quality hotels included, so as you can imagine this was not the way we envisioned starting our honeymoon. The other issue we had was the itinerary we were given by affordable luxury and the one from Beyond Escapes didn’t seem to match up; the were things that we did that we would of opted not to do if we’d been aware of them before the day, specifically the herbal gardens and the gem store, we didn’t feel these added any value to our tour and felt more like an attempt to get us to spend money on things we didn’t have any interest in. Thank goodness for Dinesh, He saved the trip as far as we’re concerned and I don’t think any other guide would’ve been able to, he really was your companies saving grace, without him we really would have a bad impression of your company, his positive attitude and friendliness really turned the trip around. He was truly exceptional and someone me and my wife both consider a friend.

I planned a return trip to Sri Lanka, my native country, after 50+ years. I had my husband, two sons and their partners with me. I didn't quite know what to expect from this trip. Beyond Escapes, after some initial communication difficulties, came through for me for a 10 day tour with hotels, car and a driver. They worked with me to adjust the itinerary to my needs, change the hotels as I requested and also pointed out some travel logistics related to air travel. From the initial pick up at the airport to everything in between, our driver Mr. Ceasor made it so relaxing, fun and exciting. First of all his English was excellent; his knowledge of the country, history and politics was helpful and interesting. He was always on time, but always relaxed with the “you are on holiday” attitude, so we were able to set our schedule as we went along. We’re foodies, and Mr. Ceasor’s access to the local food scene and restaurants was really wonderful, especially for those in our group who were native Sri Lankans! We loved the way Ceasor would stop at a local restaurant (at our request) and find us a table, order us all types of Sorties/Rotis, explain what was in each and let us dig in. We felt so much more relaxed and comfortable sampling the ‘real’ Sri Lanka than if we had tried doing this without Ceasor and Beyond Escapes. Also, this was our first time traveling with a tour company and driver – usually my husband and I rent a car and figure things out as we go. But we are so glad we chose to hire Beyond Escapes and Ceasor – they really made the trip so much easier, relaxing and incredibly fun. So, if you are looking for a stress free first time experience in Sri Lanka, I highly recommend Beyond Escapes and especially Mr. Ceasor for a fabulous time. It’s well worth it!

Good Tour Operator | Recommended, But Be Careful ——— Detailed Review Below ——— Beyond Escapes is a Sri Lankan tour operator that offers a large array of tours across the island nation - from day tours to multi-day tours. We engaged them for a 2-day tour from Colombo to Nuwura Eliya and Kandy. Here are the pros and cons + Knowledgeable guide - safe driver and knowledgeable about the culture, tradition, trees, fruits, and animals of the island. Managed to keep us engaged and listening throughout the drive. + Small but comfortable car - Their guides are basically drivers who can speak English; knowledge of the country is secondary. Our guide knew a lot about the culture and vegetation but knew nothing about the history. -Be sceptical of their choice of “tourist attractions.” The ones they take you to is probably driven by the percentage of sale they will likely get. We were taken to a “gem museum” which was actually just a commercial jeweler. The “spice museum” they took us to was basically a sales outlet for ayurvedic preparations. -Double check the hotels they take you to - they will find the cheapest option and stick you there. From the hotel to the attractions they chose for us, most were commercial entities of the Oak Ray group, leading me to suspect they were just a front for that group. If I were to engage them again, I would have to book the hotel and tourist attractions myself and let them do the driving - which btw kills the whole point of engaging a travel operator. Posting a few pictures of our visit to show all the beautiful sites we were able to visit because of this agency (its limitations aside), for which we will be eternally grateful. Verdict: Recommended - but be very careful.

We had a round tour with team Beyond Escapes, They have unique tour packages that we fitton & very satisfied with that. As well as we had a morning & evening Safaris at yala national park. We could able to sighting leopards, elephants & many other rare species of animals. We are glad to having this kind of experience with you.
